We are an especially proud supporter of Arlington’s Little League Rookie Team, The Cardinals.īecause bringing the community together is also something we believe in, we lend our support to many of the ongoing and annual events in Arlington, which not only support the local economy but also brings neighbors together.Īnd, for the thrill seekers and exercise junkies among you, Baird Automotive is a proud and enthusiastic sponsor of EX2 Adventures, Team Z and Potomac River Running. Although there are many worthy ways to give, we make a point to support local schools and kids' programs in and around the Arlington area. In March 2015, the 28-year-old third-generation scion of Inox Group led one of the biggest initial public offerings (IPOs) that India has seen in the last two. Come to an info session, or at least go online to see what this is all about. We believe in giving back to the community who helped us become the success we are today. There is a very robust Yahoo group filled with discussions, advice, good humor, race reports, all the workouts, loads of resources, polls, etc. Run by Ed Zerkel, it has excellent relationships with the event planners. It also typically (and now traditionally ) does Rumpass, Musselman, and Luray, among others.

This year, it chose IM Cozumel as the full IM-distance race. In addition, the team itself votes on what A races to do each year, and which B races to support among them. The weeks (and 16 tracks ) cycle like this: Intense 1, Peak 2, Taper, Recovery, repeat, keyed to the A races. Fridays are off, so Thursdays on recover weeks are happy hour nights. ) Weekday training - per location - includes two swim, two bike, two run, and two bootcamp workouts. Team Z has someone to help with accommodations and camping at race and training sites (she books places for us and finds really nice, economical housing. Special training weekends for upcoming races include supported open-water swimming and location-specific pre-race training (such as at Luray ). Weekend runs and rides are fully supported and are in at least two locations each, with different distances available. Approximately 60 group activities and workouts each week across the metro region with coaches, support, and sites for plans ranging from sprint to Ironman. For the cost of two months' membership at a club, I get daily options for workouts to fit my schedule, detailed training plans (16 to choose from - four tracks each for sprint, oly, half, and IM distance training ), incredible encouragement and positive support, great social compadres, and so much more!

For the cost of an hour's private coaching, I get professional-quality coaching every single workout. I determined that the money, about $90 a month, is totally worth every single dime. We have elite athletes with multiple podium finishes, clydesdales and athenas, back-of-the-packers, novices, and everything inbetween. The coaches can take someone from zero swimming experience to a sprint without trauma. I chose this team because of the incredible support it gives to every level/age/ability of athlete, and the unsurpassed race-day support where raucous cheering greets the very last athlete across the finish line, no matter when that is. Many services provide significant discounts to team members, including VO2max testing, nutrition counseling, several bike and running shops, etc. It has regular high-quality clinics on things like nutrition, heartrate/VO2 max, bike mechanics ("Beerz n Gears," ), technique in all three sports, injury prevention, etc.

There are head coaches for each location, and about six opportunities a DAY for training/workouts with outstanding personal coaching at each. I joined Team Z in January 2011 and it is now focused in MD/DC, Arlington/Springfield, and Reston/Herndon/Sterling. Team Z is in THREE locations in the DC area, with 3 fulltime coaches, and many more supporting them. This is a year later, but if anybody searches "Team Z" and "Team feXY," this pops up, so I thought I'd make an important addition.
